It’s officially the first day of a brand new year. I love being able to start fresh, especially after a rough year. After the year that we had, I couldn’t be more excited to be starting a new year and moving on with our life. Since it’s a new year, we obviously need some new resolutions (which hopefully will actually be accomplished this year). So here are my 2016 resolutions:
+ Graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I just need seven more A’s in order to accomplish this! I’m so close yet so far away. It’s so much work to balance my grades and this blog and everything else that’s going on in my life right now, but I’m so proud of myself for being able to do it so far!
+ Narrow down my career choices. I’ve always had issues with choosing what I want to do for a career. I’m horribly indecisive. It’s just so challenging to choose a career that you’re going to have for the rest of your life. How does anyone make that decision?! Well I plan to get it figured out this year! I know I want to do something in communications and public relations, but I need to figure out what industry or company I want to be in.
+ Obtain an internship…or two. I have yet to add an internship to my resume so I really need to get one at some point this year. I applied to a couple for the summer so cross your fingers that I get one of them!
+ Cross something off my bucket list. I always try to make it a priority to try new things and cross items off my bucket list every year, but honestly, I feel like I fail at it. This year, I’m hoping to actually make it a reality and cross a few things off one of my bucket lists.
+ Take control of my anxiety and depression. This has been a serious issue for me since moving back to Maine. I try not to show it on here, but it’s an issue that I really need to work on this year.
+ Work out 4-5 days a week. I’m so excited to get back to the gym. I admit, I completely failed at my gym schedule this past month. Life got hectic and then Zack came home so I haven’t been to the gym in weeks. Starting next week, I’m getting back on a set gym schedule!
+ Limit my soda and alcohol intake. I’m rocking at not drinking as much soda, but unfortunately, I’ve been replacing it with wine. Which really isn’t much better. I now need to replace both of those with water.
+ Eat less junk food! Yeah, this is an issue. I’m that girl who goes to the gym for an hour and then grabs McDonald’s for dinner or a Snickers bar. So horrible. This is a work in progress.
+ Grow my social media accounts to 2k followers each. I don’t feel that this one will be too hard to accomplish. I’ve had some great growth on my social media accounts these past couple months so I know I can continue to grow this year.
+ Grow my blog to 15-20k monthly page views. I’m really going to have to step it up this year! I want to be able to apply to more networks, but the one thing standing in my way is my page views and social media following. Hopefully by the end of the year, I’ll be able to connect with more networks and companies.
+ Take on 5 campaigns a month. November and December were super busy months for me when it comes to campaigns. It was a lot of work to keep up with all of them and everything that I had to do for each. At the same time, I loved it! I learned so much from working with those companies and writing those posts. I’m so excited to take on some more!
Of course there will also be our marriage resolutions, but I decided that those will be in their own separate post so tay tuned! There are so many amazing things planned for this year: birthdays, holidays, graduating with my bachelor’s degree in May, starting my master’s degree, Zack coming home in July, moving into our next home, my dad’s wedding in September, the Marine Corps ball in November. In theory, it should be an amazing year. I plan to make 2016 one of the best years of my life.
